Ladies and Gentlemen, it's Shayne

Here's a confession. I love music. Oh, you knew that?
But did you know I LOVE British music???? Well, I do.
I am always hunting around the net to explore something that hasn't made it yet to this side of the pond.

Last year, I came across some youtube videos from a UK TV show called the X Factor. In 2005, they had a constant by the name of Shayne Ward. Shayne, a very good-looking man from Manchester, had rough childhood. So his rise to fame is that much more poignant. Here's a video of him singing from the X Factor.

Sharon Osborne is one of the judges on the show. Her unedited and moist admiration for Shayne makes the clips that much more enjoyable. Love her.

So on to fame....
Shayne had several hits in Europe. His first, That's My Goal" made #1 in the UK. His second "No Promises" (from 2006) peaked at #2. But I like it better so here it is.


He has just released a pair of songs. Why a pair, well it appears the first single ("If that's OK with You") didn't sell as well. I thought it sounded like Alvin, the Chipmunk on helium. Kind of takes away from the sexiness of it all. The second, "No U Hang Up" is much better, but I think is still pretty glossy.

It will exciting to see how this artist matures, especially if he drifts from pop.
In the meantime, his album is due in November and is worth checking out.
