Goodbye, Mr. Korman

Harvey Korman, one of the funniest straight-men, died yesterday. Whether he was playing the foil to Tim Conway, the heavy in a Mel Brooks movie, or a guest star on a TV show, the man was brilliant. That he often broke character when Conway would make him laugh made him all the funnier. Korman won 4 Emmies and 1 Golden Globe.
A few of my favorite Harvey Korman scenes...

With Tim Conway in the Dentist Sketch from The Carol Burnett Show

As Heddy, I mean Hedley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles

And my favorite, as Dr. Montague from High Anxiety with comedic goddess Cloris Leachman as the lovely Nurse Diesel.

Goodbye, Mr. Korman. Thanks for making us laugh.

Scooter, I had not heard this news until I read your blog this morning. Very sad to hear that such a gifted comedian has past on. Harvey gave us so many laughs on the Carol Burnett Show and Mel Brooks movies, and his comic genius will never be replaced. Thanks for the post.
