Amazing Comrades

We had some amazing participants in this year's Seattle Pride Parade.

Here's Governor Christine Gregoire, who has greatly expanded the rights Domestic Partners share. Love her!

Longtime GLBT supporter, King County Executive Ron Sims.

Though most of our City Counsel was there, Jean Godden took the cake!

Openly gay State Senator, Ed Murray, has done more for gay rights in this state than anyone else I can think of. An amazing man! Yes, that's me shaking his hand.

I only noticed one Republican this year. It was the big man himself.

Sadly, there were others who I did not get their picture, including U.S. Congressman, Jim McDermott (yes, he's the man who knocked down Newt Gingrich). Congressman McDermott has marched every year that I can remember. "Why no picture?" you ask...Well because he motioned for me to shake his hand as he marched in our support...so I did. Damn, no picture. Next year.

Kristine W

We love Kristine W. We saw her several years ago at a Pride event here in Seattle. She not only put on a great show, we got to meet her and found she was incredibly cordial. This year was no exception. Seattle had a record turn-out for Pride this year. The weather was HOT, and so was the entertainment.

Did you know, Kristine is from our fine state, in fact, in 1981, she was crowned Miss Washington. She is also the first artist to have 9 consecutive number one hits on the Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart!
She was FAN-TAB-ULOUS!

I want my own funky back-up singers.

Here's the Diva (on the right) posing with Matterdays

With Scooter. (sigh)

What? An autograph, too!!!

We love you Kristine! Check out her site at Kristinew.com

Swingin' on the Flippity-Flop

Guess what we did on Thursday???

Wait Wait Don't Tell Me is one of our favorite radio shows.
We had a GREAT time. The theater was packed. Who knew Seattle had so many liberals??? (HAHAHAHAHA!)
Still it was kinda sad what they edited, including Paula Poundstone's joke about chicken balls and Paul Provenza's comment on freedom from religion. Of course, Carl Kasell was brilliantly sassy, as always.

WTH? It's Juanita Banana

Thanks to Henri Salvador (who passed earlier this year) for this 60's hair raising experience! He was also the voice of the crab, Sebastian, in Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Now That It's Summer, It's Time for...

Having a Flowbee is bad enough, having one attached to a cheap-ass blender or electric carving knife is even worse! But don't forget, you make great mulch.

Be afraid, be very afraid!

He Puts the Creep in Creepy!

Now I really don't like him!

Bad Ideas

There are probably better names they could have come up with...

The Fairy Twins and the Swimming Worm

Who doesn't love The Peanuts?

"Return Our Egg"

Don't tell shrub about the yellow powder, he'll think it's cake from Niger.

The spellbinding lost song from Mothera.

They actually recorded several hit albums. Here are some sassy songs, "Koi No Fuga-Aie No Inori-Kawaii Hana"

Who knew they could dance??? Now if only Gamera had singing fairies!

I Don't Know What to Say...

Dr. Quimn, Mad Woman

I love French & Saunders. Yesterday, as I was posting the video of Dawn French's parody of Cyd Charisse, I was reminded of Jennifer Saunder's portrayal of (Jane Seymour's) Dr. Quinn.

"He's sleeping now."

Goodbye, Cyd

The incredible Cyd Charisse passed away today. I read a great tribute on Are You There, Blog? It's Me, Stephen. He posted her entrance from Singing in the Rain, which was true movie magic and pure sexual energy.
Dawn French did a great impression of Cyd on the French and Saunders show.

No wonder she was so popular!

Stuck in My Head

WARNING: the following video contains Rick Astley and so may not be safe for work. I actually love Rick. And I today this song is stuck in my head. It's not one of his 80's hits (and the rumor that he sued himself for plagiarism is really just a rumor).

I'm sure Big Daddy is smiling. :)

Junuary's 12 of 12

Wow, it's already that time when we celebrate Chad's 12 of 12. For rules and such, go to his site. If you've never experienced it, it's a blast! And it so much fun to look back on them later!

I work late on Thursdays. Matt had already gone to work. The dogs and I slept in...that is until Kali decided it was Baby-Egg time. (Baby-Egg is her ball that she MUST sleep with).

Stoli, while hiding from Kali, still manages to look cute.

Kitty pretends she's still sleeps so she doesn't have to go outside. Heck with this weather, I wanna stay inside, too.

Hunter watched over the stairs from his feline frolic penthouse.

Almost 11 am...time for the turtle races!!!!

Schotzie was worried I would forget to take his picture. What a camera whore!

Our peonies haven't opened yet! Where are the ants???

Flamingos grace our garden.

Poppies make me sleepy.

I strive to be the man my dog thinks I am.

Driving to work I was a truck with an ad in their back window for "hair design." WHO THE HELL CHOOSES WHO WILL CUT THEIR HAIR FROM AN AD IN THE WINDOW OF A TRUCK???
Then I saw their off ramp, and it all made sense.

On my way home, I stopped at Safeway. Jesus candles were on sale.

With great timing a woman wearing these shoes came in to buy some feminine items. I thought she should get a Jesus candle, too.
